Start a Business Transfer
The continuity of a business is important not only for the owner and potential buyer, but also for its employees, customers, and the local municipality. In the *Business Acquisitions Kickoff* project, we aim to stimulate business transactions, streamline the process of preparing businesses for sale, and facilitate ownership transfers. The project will also develop new ways to connect sellers with potential buyers, helping to find the right buyer-seller match.
SME Acquisition Tool
As part of the project, a tool will be created to serve as at least a comprehensive checklist for all parties involved in a business transfer. The goal is for aspiring entrepreneurs to find a suitable business, while those exiting can move on to a new career or well-deserved retirement. The tool ensures that the continuation of the business’s lifecycle is not hindered by a lack of information. Although the project primarily benefits the South Ostrobothnia region, other areas will also gain since business transactions occur across municipal and regional borders.
Accounting Firms
Almost every business has a close relationship with an accounting firm, and accountants are familiar with the key success factors or challenges of a business. The project will reach out to accounting firms with the aim of furthering the active role of accountants in initiating business transfers and packaging necessary information. Both the buyer and the seller need financial data when determining the value of a business and seeking financing for the acquisition.
Educational Institutions & Entrepreneurship Education
A crucial part of activating and finding buyers involves engaging with entrepreneurship education in South Ostrobothnian educational institutions. This aims to ensure that acquiring an existing business is presented as an option within entrepreneurship education.
