ReVisio accelerates SMEs towards higher-value circular economy business models
Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences’ ReVisio project started on 1 May 2026. The project supports SMEs in South Ostrobothnia in developing future-proof business, products, and services.
In ReVisio, the circular economy is seen as a driver of business renewal, competitiveness, and resilience. The project combines customer value, commercial capabilities, and circular product development.
Over the coming years, ReVisio will offer companies practical tools and events related to product development, ecodesign, design thinking, service design, commercialization, and change management.
The project develops tools such as service design methods, communication and marketing planning tools, Design for Circularity approaches, circular product design expertise, and multi-objective optimization to support product development.
ReVisio shifts circular economy thinking from material recycling towards profitable and growth-oriented business models built around services, longer product lifecycle, sharing models, and circular value creation. The project also addresses changes in EU regulation, such as the Ecodesign Regulation and Digital Product Passports.
The project is mainly carried out in Finnish, but materials and selected content will also be produced in English. ReVisio will expand SEAMK’s Riihi platform with an English-language section to improve access to its tools for international experts.
The project consists of four work packages:
- Eco-design and product development
- Commercialization
- Service design
- Communication and networks
The project will produce guides, tools, case examples, demos, and bilingual materials for companies and development organizations.
ReVisio is co-funded by the European Union and implemented by Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences.
